Boris Chepkosev works and lives in Volgograd, Russia. He studied painting at the Volgograd Art Institute. Chepkosev paints in the style of the great Russian impressionists. He prefers to paint with a pallet knife instead of a traditional brush giving his Volga river scenes a three dimensional glistening appearance. With this technique, he is able to paint in surprisingly great detail. Even from a distance his paintings still hold their three dimensional aspect. Water is depicted with either small choppy strokes or large sweeping ones.
